Pep Guardiola believes that Tottenham Hotspur will push his side all the way for the Premier League title, particularly given that they do not have European football to worry about this season.

It is fair to say that even the most optimistic of Spurs fans would not have expected the Ange Postecoglou reign to start as well as it has, with the Lilywhites sitting at the top of the Premier League table after ten matches.

Unlike some of his predecessors, the Australian has refused to put a limit on the club’s ambitions, reiterating that the supporters have every right to dream big and get carried away with the start that the side have made (Sky Sports).

However, the general consensus among Spurs fans continues to be that a top-four finish would be an excellent achievement for Posteocglou in his first season in charge.

Pep Guardiola thinks Tottenham can challenge

Manchester City and Arsenal both demonstrated with their comfortable wins over the weekend that they are well-equipped to battle it out for the top prize once again, but Guardiola is not taking Tottenham lightly at the moment.

The City boss said (via Football.London): “Look at Tottenham, how well they are playing, they play one game a week, they will be fit throughout the season. Tottenham will be there.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Pep is only being respectful towards Tottenham. I suspect he still thinks that Arsenal and Liverpool are much bigger threats to City this season, which is to be expected, given that Spurs are only at the start of their project under Postecoglou.
