The Evening Standard have revealed that Pape Matar Sarr was seen with an ice pack on his foot after playing for Senegal during the international break.

Sarr started for his nation in a 1-0 friendly win over Cameroon on Monday before returning to London for club duty, as Spurs are set to face Fulham in the Premier League.

Fortunately, despite the ice pack being spotted, Sarr took part in Tottenham training on Wednesday, easing fears of a lasting injury.

Pape Matar Sarr looks to have shaken off a knock

Ange Postecoglou cannot afford to lose another key midfielder for the Monday Night Football London derby, with Yves Bissouma already suspended following his red card last time out.

Sarr has been a revelation in midfield alongside Bissouma and Maddison so far this season, showing experience well beyond his 21 years of age.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It’s good to hear that the ice pack didn’t hint towards an injury of any kind. The interesting thing will now be who Postecoglou names to partner Sarr and Maddison against Fulham. Hojbjerg as a steady option? Lo Celso as a more attacking midfielder? Someone else entirely?
